Cap 2K

This morning about 150 swimmers completed a 2k swim in Town Lake for the Cap 2K open water swim benefitting Deep Eddy. It was a fun race, even if the first thing I saw when I arrived at the race site was this big yellow warning:

Austin's gotten a lot of rain the past week so it was swim at your own risk. We swam in a pretty clean section of the river so hopefully the repeated lungfuls of water I swallowed won't be harmful.

Severe Weather II

More severe weather hit Central Texas last night. We didn't suffer any damage, but driving through central Austin this morning showed lots of trees and limbs down.

This is the second time I've seen this guy hopping around Austin. He's wearing powerisers (it took me awhile to find them on the internet.) At first I thought gas prices finally got too high but now I think he's training for the circus. Oh, and he's wearing a helmet with bunny ears (though you can't see them in this picture.)
